Winged Scarab beetle, inspired by the emblematic jewellery of the Ancient Egyptians, and by original 18th century colour prints painted by the famous French designer Firmin Didot from his visits to the Tombs of the Kings.
The scarab is made from sterling silver, hard-gold plated to vermeil standard. The body of the scarab is inset with genuine lapis lazuli, representing wing cases. It holds a Garnet gemstone, known to the Egyptians, as a symbol of the Sun that it rolls over the horizon. The reverse of the pendant is designed with as much attention to detail as the front.
The pendant is intricately wrought, but still a statement piece at 27mm size.
It comes with a sterling silver curb chain, gold-plated, length 20″
